Rachel Adams, founder, cake baker & decorator

Hey there! I’m Rachel, a local cake baker and decorator. I started my business a little over 10 years ago as a way to balance my work life with my daughter’s frequent hospital visits. Growing up, baking was a huge part of family life, with lots of sweet treats always on the go. I learned many of my skills from my mum, who is a fantastic baker. Passionate about making cakes that taste just as good as they look, I’m always happy to bake for all kinds of occasions and love taking on a new challenge.

I’m proud to say that I keep my Food Hygiene Level 2 and Food Allergy & Intolerance training up to date.

I set up The Cake Shed at Thistlebarrow last year, as I felt that in today’s ever-evolving climate it’s important to have options to enjoy my cakes without the bigger expense. So please stop by and have a browse.
